Dev Update: Precipice (8/27/2026)
August is nearing its end, and here in Minnesota, it’s still solidly summer. But the first stirrings of fall are on the breeze, and some leaves are shifting from green to red. The edge of autumn is a nostalgic time for me, since I first moved to Minnesota in an October that felt like an August.
Fortunately, even if you’re bracing for shorter days and colder nights like I am, we’ve got lots of dev news on Precipice coming for you! This week, that includes….
Build Progress
I’ve finally fully magnetized Sebastian Gsell’s awesome final version sculpt of the M-Trak from Arbelos. Check it out! I’m excited to get paint on it, though I’ve yet to pick a color scheme for this one. I love the Olive Drab look I used on the first two, but I might change things up a bit this time.
Fiction Primer: The Precipice
With two worlds revealed and (at least) three more to go, we’re approaching the halfway point of the first “season” of Precipice fiction. So this seemed like a good time to discuss a big, unanswered question: what actually is the Precipice? This week’s Fiction Primer brings you up to speed on the interdimensional space. Check it out for answers, deeper questions, and some of Gernot Buder’s awesome concept art of this realm between worlds!
Mechanics Update: Head to Head
Why put a head on a fighting vehicle? There’s more to it than looking cool. Although looks are part of the equation! Read in this week’s Mechanics Update on as I muse a bit about mech designs, the narrative role of a head, and how we translated that into mechanics for Precipice.
And that about covers the Precipice news for this week! Check back next week for the first Harness story, an article on the Input cards that control mechs in Precipice, and more!
